Nose Hill is considered the largest inner-city park in all of North America. From about end of Spring until Winter its really just an ugly brown lump of dead grass in the city.
During a brief period in Spring and most of the Winter it is quite an attractive place to go for a walk.
Priddis is just a short drive south of Calgary. Its a popular spot for hunters during the winter seasons, but it also makes for some nice landscape shots of the Rocky Mountains from its foothills.
Near the Spray Lakes, just outside of Canmore is a great the Old Goat Glacier Trial. The trial is challenging and a little difficult to locate, but rewarding from start to finish.
