Japanese – But, but, but!


Just like in English there are so many ways to say ‘but’. Here are a few of the common ways:

でも - Demo – But

しかし - Shikashi – However

What if you need  to make a sentence with the use of ‘but’:

が - Ga – But

けど - Kedo – Though

けれでも - Keredemo – However

Example: I will go to the department store, but I won’t buy anything

デパートに いく、 なにも かいません

Example: I ate the dish though I did not get sick.

さかなを たべたけど びょうきに なりませんでした
