I really like Skeeter Pee. The name does not conjure thoughts of something delicious, but you will have to try it for yourself.
I decided to make another batch, albeit slightly different then the first.
Ingredients —
- 2KG of Sugar
- 2 Bottles of Lemon Juice
- 1 Can of Orange Juice, from concentrate
Topped off to 5 gallons with water the OG was around 1.035 (this is a guesstimate). I rehydrated the yeast in 1 cup of warm water and half a cup of the ‘wine must’, plus a couple tablespoons of sugar and half a teaspoon of yeast nutrient. I let it sit for 2 hours and added it to the batch right away, rather then letting it sit overnight.
I kind of messed up this batch during the process; I ended up overfilling my carboy with water and forgot to add the lemon juice so I was forced to siphon off 1/2 gallon of the wine-must to make room for it. This morning when I checked it I could see visible signs of fermentation, though without a gravity reading its tough to tell if its actually doing anything. I actually do not know if the OG is 1.035, but its probably close. The gravity taken before I siphoned the 1/2 gallon out and added the lemon was 1.040.
If it ferments out dry it should still be around a FG of 1.000 and an ABV of 4.5%.
