I tried one of my all Cascade hop Blonde ales last night and I have to say it might be the best beer I have ever made. It’s light body allows the hop character to shine through very well.
I am adding the recipe to my list as a keeper for sure! Here it is.
Cascading Blonde Ale
Grains
• 5.0 lbs Pale Malt 2-Row
• 2.0 lbs Pilsner Ale Malt
Hops
• 0.5oz Cascade @ 60min
• 0.5oz Cascade @ 20min
• 0.5oz Cascade @ 10min
• 0.5oz Cascade @ 0min
Misc
• 1 tsp Yeast Nutrient
• 1 package Nottingham Yeast, rehydrated in ½ cup warm water
Procedures
• Conditioned malt, milled once
• Brew-in-a-Bag
• Single Step Mash, ~140F-145F, 60 minutes, 2 gallons
• Sparge, 4 gallons
• 60 minute boil
• Freezie-pop Ice bath (45 minutes to bring to pitching temperature)
