So I have been trying out some of the CrossFit routines. On Thursday I went through the standard Crossfit Warm Up, followed by the Workout of the Day named “Cindy”. Yesterday I went through the Body weight only workouts provided by the websites and picked out one submitted by a reader who is supposedly in the Navy Seals.
The routine went as followed:
For Time –
10 Burpees – 20 Box/Bench Jumps – 30 Pushups – 40 Squats – 50 Lunges – Repeat for 5 Rounds
I made it through 4 rounds, and finished it off with 10 and 10 Right arm/Left Arm centric pull ups and 15-15 staggered pushups at which point I could not go any further. Total time was just under 30 minutes for probably one of the most intense workouts I have put myself through in months.
All in all I am pretty excited about these workouts. They are fast, intense and exhausting.
Today’s routine is “Fran” — For Time: 21+15+9 of Thrusters and Pullups
And this couple did it in under 3 minutes. Crazy. I think I will take it just a little easier and maybe add a round of L-Dips to make up for my lack of comparable intensity.
Update — I completed the routine in about 12 minutes then added another 3 rounds of Bicep Curls (15-9-5), L-Sits (for as long as I could hold it — About 20-30 seconds) and Decline Pushups (25-15-10) which took about 7 minutes. I did not feel exhausted initially but about 2 hours I hit a wall and was dragging my feet all over the Ikea. Thankfully they serve cheap swedish food there.
