I decided to kill two birds with one stone today and bottled both my Christmas Ale and my Saaz Pilsner. I would like to say the entire process went off without a hitch, but when I opened up my Saaz Pilsner’s fermenter I found to my surprise that I am an idiot. I left the stirring spoon in the wort the entire time! It is a food grade stirring spoon so I am praying it does not create in off-flavours in the Pilsner. Namely plastic flavours… I guess I will know in 7-10 days. Following that I dropped my Hydrometer which smashed on the ground making it impossible to get a final gravity reading for my Saaz (I had taken the Christmas Ale already). Thankfully I found a spare in one of my empty carboys.
