Routine of the Day – Deadlift, Pullup, Cleans and K2E

This one is brutal. Every round seems to compound in difficulty. First round took a bit over 2:30, next was around 4:00, then 6 minutes, then 7+ minutes for the last two rounds. This morning I slayed a dragon.

Routine of the Day – Complete 5 rounds for time

  • 135lbs Deadlift, 20 reps
  • 20 Pullups
  • 75lbs Power Hanging Clean, 20 reps
  • 20 Knees-to-Elbows

Time – 27:24

Routine of the Day – Row, Thrusters and Pullups

Routine of the Day – 3 Rounds for Time

  • Row, 0.5 miles
  • 50 Thrusters, 45lbs Olympic Bar (ass to grass and elbows to knees at bottom, bar locked overhead at top)
  • 30 Pullups

Time – 30:46

I think I hate thrusters more then any other exercise I do regularly. My legs were on fire so bad after the first round it was hard to rep 10 in a row without needing to break.

Recipes – Beer Cookies

They really are not beer cookies, but they contain 2-Row Pale Malt as the base. I was originally going to use this roasted malt for beer, but did not like how my previous beer turned out in the end. Rather then tossing it all out I decided to blend it into flour and use it for cookies!

High in protien, fiber and surprisingly good.

  • 3 cups of ground 2-Row Pale Malt, pre-toasted (this was about a 75% 2-Row, 25% Oatmeal mix to be honest)
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp nutmeg

Steps -

  1. Pre-heat oven to 300F
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a big bowl
  3. Mix liquid in a separate bowl
  4. Mix them together in big bowl
  5. Stir, should be thick
  6. Please into a large baking sheet, bake for about 15-20 minutes or until brown
  7. Remove and cool for 20 minutes.

Thats it. I figured if it turned out like crap I could give them to the dog, but unfortunately for him they did not.

Sorry you fatty. No cookies for you.

Routine of the Day – Death By Pullups

Routine of the Day – Death By Pullups

On a continuously running clock, do 1 Pullup for the first minute, 2 for the second, 3 for the third minute and so on until you are unable to complete the required number of repetitions.

Completed 17 minutes, + 14 reps on the 18th minute.

I find the first 10 minutes pretty dull, so I used the downtime to practice handstands into forward rolls.
