Black Molasses Porter bottled

Last night I managed to grab a free hour which I used to bottle my last beer creation, the Black Molasses Porter. This is my first attempt at a full boil, which I was only able to do at a 3 gallon batch. The finished product yielded exactly 16 pints of porter which is only 2 gallons of beer; A surprisingly large amount of lost volume.

Final gravity reading was 1.021, which is an ABV of approximately 7.0%. That would make this porter the strongest ale I have made to date. I probably should have taken an earlier gravity reading and moved it to bottles when it neared 5%, but hopefully this high ABV will not affect the flavour too much.

I am going to give it one week in bottles before sampling and I will update the handful of people that view this website with the final results. On a side note, I the reason I have not uploaded any photos in the past month is because I am having difficulties with my hosting and NextGen Gallery… Well it sucks.
