Beer Review – Wild Rose WRaspberry Ale

Name: Wild Rose WRaspberry Ale

Origin: Calgary, Canada

Style: Fruit Ale (5%)

Appearance:  Somewhat foggy with a golden colour. There is just the slightest hint of pink to its colouring. The beer poured with no head.

Taste: No lie: It smelled like Raspberry cheesecake. Most of the other beer flavours are overwhelmed by the creamy, raspberry taste. The aftertaste is a thin tasting sweet raspberry which does not stay for long.

Mouth Feel: Foamy, sharp on the tongue and very filling.

Final Thoughts (3 out of 5):  It is a decent fruit beer, though the weaker ale flavours are completely hidden from the drink. All in all its enjoyable and much better from the Wild Rose Brewery, where they top the glass off with a handful of real raspberries.
