Beer Review – Unity Brew 2010

Name: Unity Brew, a beer cooperatively made by the main microbreweries in Alberta.

Origin: Alberta

Style:  Amber Ale (5%)

Appearance:  A dark amber coloured ale, this beer is clear and quite carbonated. It pours with a beautiful foamy head that has amazing retention lasting the entire session.

Taste:  This beer is all around citrusy. From aroma to flavour the citrus-like tastes are present in all moments of this beer. The aroma is of oranges and strong hops, the initial flavour is bitter, with notes of pink grapefruit. The beer has some toffee-like flavours nestled in the background as well. It finishes clean, with just the slightest sweet orange taste.

Mouth Feel: A soft, filling beer, the Unity Brew is light bodied and easy drinking.

Final Thoughts (4.0 out of 5): A collaberation of all the microbreweries in Alberta, all proceeds from this beer go to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Thank you Alley Kat Brewing Company, Ambers Brewing Company, Big Rock Brewing Company, Brew Brothers, Brewster’s Brewing Company, Drummond Brewing Company, Jasper Brewing Company, Roughneck Brewing Company, The Grizzly Paw Brewing Company, Wild Rose Brewery, Wild Wood Brewing Company. It is a fantastic beer!
