Name: San Miguel Dark Lager
Origin: Philippines
Style: Dark Lager (5%)
Appearance: A dark brown ale, that appears similar to a cola when held to the light. It pours with a small head, shrinks to a thin filmy top with decent retention.
Taste: The aroma is quite light, with some notes of raisins. Flavours are sweet, with raisins and apples. There obvious notes of sweet chocolate as well. It finishes clearn, with a sweet chocolate like aftertaste. No real bitterness
Mouth Feel: Soft and easy drinking, this is a nice, refreshingly light bodied dark lager.
Final Thoughts (3.5 out of 5): This is not the first time I have had this Philippine made beer. Overall it is a good beer which is both tasty and nice to drink, though the lack of bitterness and hops flavours does take away from the beer a little.
