Beer Review – Rogue Dead Guy Ale

Name: Rogue Dead Guy Ale

Origin: USA, Oregon

Style: IPA (6.5%)

Appearance: A crystal clear, orangish-copper coloured ale. It pours with a fizzy, medium head with a moderate lifespan.

Taste: The aroma is of peaches and berries. The flavours start sweet base, with peaches, raspberries and toffee noted. It becomes quite bitter, with orange citrus being the dominating trait. The aftertaste stays the same, with a bitter orange citrus finish that is surprisingly short lived. I should stress that the beers main profile is its sweet base, which is detectable through the entire session.

Mouth Feel: A soft and creamy beer, but quite filling. It has a medium body.

Final Thoughts (4.0 out of 5): This has been on my list of beers I have wanted to try for over a year now, but I just never got around to it. Rogue makes some damn good beers but they are very, very expensive. Overall this was well worth the cost, so much that I may get the Double Dead Guy next week.

So many bees.
