Beer Review – Red Stripe

Name: Red Stripe

Origin: Jamaica

Style: Lager

Appearance:  As with most lagers, this one is a crystal clear pale gold. It pours with absolutely zero head at all. The beer looks quite carbonated and fizzy just from its appearance.

Taste: The odor is metallic, though there some hint of something sweet, almost like table sugar. Red Stripe starts sweet and grassy, as do most lagers. It then becomes noticeably sour and citrus-like, but still finishes with a similar sweet and grassy taste.

Mouth Feel: This lager is just as carbonated as it looks, though not overly rough on the tongue. It is still quite filling.

Final Thoughts (2.5 out of 5):  I love the bottles these come in so much that I will keep them around for some of my own future batches. The beer itself is nothing to rave about, but a solid choice for lager lovers alike.
