Beer Review – Red Rose Amber Ale

Name: Red Rose Amber Ale

Origin: Shizuoka, Japan

Style: Ale (5.5%)

Appearance: A dark, foggy and unclear ale. Its caramel coloured, with some obvious floaties which shows this beer is unfiltered. It pours with a medium head and has excellent retention.

Taste: The aroma is very hoppy, with some obvious rose-like scents. The taste is malty and bready, with strong notes from the hops giving it a very floral flavour. There is definitely rose petals used in this ale, giving it a uniquely floral flavour. Despite the heavy hoppiness of the beer its surprisingly not bitter at all. The aftertaste is floral, malty and very long lasting.

Mouth Feel: It has a soft mouthfeel, medium body and is not filling at all.

Final Thoughts (4.0 out of 5): I love hops. I love ales. I love hoppy ales. The addition of rose to this brew gives it a unique and enjoyable palette.

The largest in Japan and one of the largest in the world
