Beer Review – Professor’s Dunkel

Name: Professor’s Dunkels

Origin: Vienna, Austria

Style: Dunkel (Marzen)

Appearance:  I got to sample this beauty of a beer while on one of Vienna’s university campuses. This dunkel is a red-brown color, very similar to Dr. Pepper. It was served with a small head that dissipated within a few minutes

Taste: Fruity, cherries or maybe even Nibs came to mind when I smelled it. The beer was incredibly rich, with strong fruity flavours. Like its odour it reminded me slightly of Dr.Pepper, without tasting like a soda. Finishes with a light bitterness.

Mouth Feel: Creamy and not overly filling, this was a very easy drinking beer. The bitter, fruity aftertaste is also enjoyable.

Final Thoughts (4 out of 5):  Rich and unique tasting, an enjoyable mix of flavours this was another winner on the Germany trip. Awesome aftertaste!
