Beer Review – O’Halons Yellow Hammer Ale

Name: O’Halons Yellow Hammer Ale

Origin: Wimple, Devon

Style: Pale Ale (English Pale)

Appearance:  It is a cloudy, yellow-tan colored pale ale. There is some sediment floating in the beer due to it being an unfiltered ale. It produces a medium, foamy head that is short lived.

Taste: It smells slightly of yeast and something sweet. Yellow Hammer has a sweet, fruity flavor with some citrus like notes. In the finish there are some slight hints of caramel from the malts but is generally tart.

Mouth Feel: This is a sharp drinking beer, though not overly carbonated.

Final Thoughts (4 out of 5): This is an excellent beer. It is fully flavored, malty pale ale. The complex finish is highly enjoyable.
