Beer Review – Molson ‘M’ – Microcarbonated Lager

Name: Molson ‘M’ – Microcarbonated Lager

Origin: Canada

Style: Lager (4.9%)

Appearance: A deep gold, clear and highly carbonated lager. It poured with a very fizzy medium head that had excellent retention.

Taste: The aroma is grassy and sweet. Its flavours are a nice balance of a malty sweetness and plain bitter hops. There are short-lived notes of honey in the beginning which become more malty and bread like. It finishes very herbal, with some flavours of bitter citrus and a small, but noticable unpleasant ‘skunky’ taste.

Mouth Feel: Soft, creamy and very sharp all at the same time. Its light bodied and quite refreshing. Overall the mouth feel is excellent, being neither to carbonated nor too creamy.

Final Thoughts (3.5 out of 5): This is, surprisingly enough, a very good lager from the the all Canadian (and yet owned by American’s) Macrobrewery. A marcobrewery selling microcarbonated lagers. What the hell is microcarbonated anyone? Tiny carbonation?

By the taste this lager has more density than regular gold beer. Alcohol effect comes up after the first can of lager. It is not so sweat and not so bitter, it just perfect beer to keep drinking one glass after another. Important thing is temperature of beer. It has to be cold enough to feel balance of flavor and do not taste of alcohol.
Nothing particular and not exotic, it is just excellent and more traditional lager that you can keep drinking without hang over next day.
