Beer Review – Molson Canadian Sublime

Name: Molson Canadian Sublime

Origin: Canada

Style: Lager (Flavoured Beer, 3.0%)

Appearance: Its a pale, dull yellow coloured lager. It pours with a fizzy medium head, but it does not last for long before completely evaporates. The beer is crystal clear allowing you to see the high level of carbonation.

Taste: The aroma is overwhelmingly lime. It reminds me a bit of sprite or maybe a lime-flavoured spritzer. The flavour, or lack thereof, is nearly entirely lime. It has a slightly sweet malty start, which is like a lime flavoured candy, but it becomes astrigent, bitter and sour. The lime flavour seems natural enough. Finishes with a sweet-sour lime aftertaste that lingers and lingers.

Mouth Feel: Surprisingly enough its a medium bodied beer being but only due to the very high carbonation. Soft, yet very filling. This beer is slightly refreshing to drink but the heavy lime aftertaste detracts from it great.

Final Thoughts (1.0 out of 5): Molson Canadians sublime should probably be renamed to maxlime or primelime. The aroma is nearly all lime. The flavour is nearly all lime. There are no beer flavours what-so-ever in it, leaving you wondering if your actually drinking a beer or a lime flavoured club soda. This is another one of those diet ‘beers’ that becomes available to the public during the summer months. It almost worst the bud light lime, but because it has even less beer-like flavours to it, its not as gross. Basically it tastes like a slightly sweetened club soda and lime spritzer. English Milds have a similar caloric value and taste far, far better. Why can’t we get them in this country?

I believe this is called Mud Lake, near Burstall Pass in the Spray Lakes area
