Appearance: A very rich amber coloured IPA, this beer pours with a fantastic looking frothy head with excellent retention.
Taste: The aroma is spicy and toffee like. This is a very strong, rich tasting beer. Its heavily malty, with strong notes of toffee and apples. The beer finishes bitter and spicy from the heavy use of cascade hops. The aftertaste is quite strong and is very long lasting. There is a light taste of alcohol which is not surprising from the very high ABV.
Mouth Feel: It starts out soft while in the mouth, but the harshness of the high ABV comes through. The Minoh W-IPA warms the stomach.
Final Thoughts (3.5 out of 5): This IPA has a very strong palette and is not for the faint of heart. It will punch you in the face and make you say: “これ ビールーは 強い味 ですよ! おなかが あたたかくなりました！”
