Beer Review – McEwans Champion Ale

Name: McEwans Champion Ale

Origin: Edinburgh, Scotland

Style:  Scottish Strong Ale (7.3%)

Appearance:  A light red, brown ale that pours with a nice foamy head.

Taste: It smells strongly of dates and fruits. The flavours are fruity, with notes of fig and dates. The hops give it a spicy, bitter finish. A very light, lingering honey aftertaste is also detected. The high ABV is not noticeable due to the rich flavours of this ale.

Mouth Feel: It has a medium body, creamy and a very soft mouth feel.

Final Thoughts (4 out of 5): Fantastic ale! It has an excellent range of flavours from fruity and sweet, to peppery and bitter.

Can you spot the deer? I know I did!
