Beer Review – Maximus Strong Premium Ale

Name: Maximus Strong Premium Ale

Origin: Scotland

Style: Strong Ale (6.5%)

Appearance: This beer is a rusty, dark red colour. It pours with a medium head and has a decent retention.

Taste: The Maximus Strong has a very fruit, apple-like aroma. Like its smell, this beer is tastes of apples and caramel. It finishes sweet with just some slightly sour, wheat ale like notes. This final sour aftertaste does not linger long.

Mouth Feel:  For a strong ale this is surprisingly soft and easy on the tongue. There is no noticeable alcohol even with its high ABV.

Final Thoughts (3.0 out of 5): Its has a pleasant, rich sweet palette but oddly enough finishes with an off sour taste. It is very easy to drink.

The sheep in Ireland all suffer from a graffi problem. They must spray paint them for a reason, right?
