Name: Sap Sucker Maple Porter
Origin: Canada, Quebec
Style: Wheat Ale (9%)
Appearance: A pale, dull white-yellow coloured wheat ale. Pours with a small, fizzy head that quickly dissipates into nothingness.
Taste: A strong aroma of apples and wine. The flavours are heavily spiced, with notes of pepper and clove. Winey and slightly hot due to the high ABV. Floral notes that remind me of incense are very apparent in this ale as well. It finishes with a sour lemon like aftertaste that lingers on the tongue.
Mouth Feel: For such a heavily carbonated beer it has a surprisingly soft mouth feel. Medium bodied.
Final Thoughts (2.5 out of 5): Not great, not bad. Probably the most palatable Unibroue beer I have had. When I tried this a couple weeks ago I harvested its yeast as well. Hopefully this weekend I will get a couple hours to brew up a new beer so I can try it out!
