Name: R&B’s Hoppelganger IPA
Origin: Canada
Style: IPA (6%)
Appearance: A murky, orange-peach coloured IPA, it pours with a large soft and creamy head that is short lived leaving behind only a small filmy top.
Taste: I found the aroma to be piney, with notes of caramel and honey. The flavours start sweet, with strong notes of honey, caramel and raisins. These are quickly overwhelmed by the much stronger flavours from the hops; Bitter pines, citrus and something floral I cannot pinpoint. The aftertaste is a linger bitter grass-like flavour.
Mouth Feel: A soft, creamy ale that is quite filling. It has a sticky mouth feel due to the high IBU and bitterness, leaving you feeling more parched. It has a light-medium body.
Final Thoughts (3.5 out of 5): So much hops. I love hops. A very tasty brew, though nothing mind blowing. I have found that R&B Brewing Co. makes consistently good craft beer.
