Name: Hobgoblin
Origin: Oxford, England
Style: English Brown Ale (5.2%)
Appearance: A dark copper colour with a minimal head and very little retention. When held to the light it sparkles like a ruby. Or red beer.
Taste: It smells of cherries and other fruit. The flavours reminded me of cherries on crackers. It finishes sweet and fruity with some of the bitter hops coming through in the aftertaste.
Mouth Feel: The mouth feel is quite sharp and leaves a stinging sensation on the tongue. It is also noticeably filling.
Final Thoughts (4 out of 5): What the hobgoblin ale fails in mouth feel, it makes up for in its great taste.
