Name: Heineken Lager Beer
Origin: Amsterdam, Holland (Netherlands)
Style: Lager (Pale Lager/ Pilsner)
Appearance: This beer is a very pale golden colour, completely clear when held up to the light. It produces a small head that it fails to retain longer then a few seconds, but it does leave a small ring of soft foam around the edge of the glass.
Taste: The aroma is some what sweet, and quite skunky on the pour, though that leaves quickly. Over all the beer is relatively light tastings with some hints of bitterness and strong grassy tastes. It finishes with a grassy/herbal aftertaste that lingers on the mouth.
Mouth Feel: The beer drinks quite easily, though the carbonation is quite strong and leaves the tongue feeling somewhat rough at the end of a single beer.
Final Thoughts (2 out of 5): Again I do not enjoy many of the macro brewery beers and Heineken is no exception. Typically a beer with primarily herbal and grassy flavours would put me off, but they do not linger long as the beer is quite watery. Over all not a beer I would ever buy but I will certainly drink one if offered for free.
