Beer Review – Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted Blonde Beer

Name: Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted Blonde Beer

Origin: Scotland, Hillsfoot Village

Style: Ale, Blonde (4.2%)

Appearance: It pours with a nice, medium head but loses this quickly leaving nothing but a faint film on the top of the beer. As its name says it is a blonde coloured beer, clear and only slightly fizzy in appearance.

Taste:  A strong, aromatic spicy aroma. It smells strongly of hops, which is too bed expected with the variety that is in this beer (Challenger and Styrian Goldings). The beer has a sweet malty bread-like palette, with strong notes of lemon and pepper from its hops. The aftertaste is grassy and citrusy, but short lived.

Mouth Feel: A medium bodied ale, it is exceptionally soft and easy drinking.

Final Thoughts (4 out of 5):  This is a fantastic beer. It is labeled as a World Beer Awards winner as the Best Ale and it is well deserved.
