Beer Review – Gambrinus Schankbier

Name: Gambrinus Schankbier

Origin: Wien, Austria

Style: Pilsner (4.5%)

Appearance: Standard clear, yellow colour. No head when poured. Low amount of carbonation was apparent in the glass.

Taste: It smells of sweet grasses and lightly hopped and floral. The taste is sweet and grain-like, grassy and finished just the same. The aftertaste is short and clean.

Mouth Feel: Surprisingly fizzy with its lack of carbonation in its appearance. Not overly sharp and the aftertaste is clean making it a refreshing beer.

Final Thoughts (3 out of 5):  A good beer to enjoy on a hot afternoon in a country where water is more expensive then beer. It was worth the 0.70 Canadian cents (about 0.40 Euro) I paid for it.
