Beer Review – Fullers Extra Special Bitter

Name: Fullers Extra Special Bitter

Origin: England

Style: English Bitter (5.9%)

Appearance: An orange-brown, toffee coloured ale. It poured with a very large foamy head, but it does not last very long.

Taste: It has a strong floral aroma, with some sweet notes of raisins. It is also a strong flavourful ale, with powerful notes of bitter-sweet orange, raisins and caramel. The entire session holds a bitter, grassy flavour from start to finish and leaves a lingering sweet and bitter citrus.

Mouth Feel: A medium bodied, easy drinking ale. Its quite foamy so I found it to be very filling.

Final Thoughts (4 out of 5): I had this beer years ago and I gave it a 2/5. Amazing how much my tastes have changed, especially since I got into home brewing. I love hops. I love strong, robust ales. I love beers with character.

I am update the score to a 4.
