Name: Full Sail Elevation IPA
Origin: USA, Oregon
Style: Imperial IPA (7.5%)
Appearance: A light toffee coloured ale, that pours with a delicious looking, long lived, creamy head.
Taste: The aroma is, surprisingly enough, that of pineapples and cooked spinach. Yes I am really not kidding you, that is what I can smell. Don’t worry though, it gets better from here. It starts with a sweet, citrusy body, but quickly gives was to its highly hopped nature. Intensely bitter, herbal hops with flavours that range from flowers and bitter lettuce. It finishes how it starts, with an orange-like sweet citrus, blanketed in an immensely floral bitterness.
Mouth Feel: A soft, easy drinking IPA. Not particularly filling. Medium bodied.
Final Thoughts (4 out of 5): Don’t let the odd aroma’s deter you from this IPA, its actually very tasty. I would put Elevation IPA right beside Arrogant Bastard in terms of flavour and enjoyability.
