Beer Review – Eugene City Tracktown 200 Meter Ale

Name: Eugene City Tracktown 200 Meter Ale

Origin: Oregon, USA

Style: Indian Pale Ale (6.5%)

Appearance: This IPA is a cloudy, orange-peach colour, that pours with an attractive foamy head with excellent retention.

Taste: Tracktown has a very hoppy, sweet citrus aroma reminding me of tangerines. The flavours start with a sweet caramel malt body, with strong notes of floral hops and citrus. The beer finishes incredibly bitter and citrusy which lingers for a very, very long time on the tongue.

Mouth Feel: Its a semi-sharp, medium bodied, not overly filling ale. It leaves a slight tingling across the tongue from the long living aftertaste.

Final Thoughts (4.0 out of 5): This beer was very tasty, with a nice range of strong toffee-esque sweetness and heavily bitter hops. I love heavily hopped ales and this beer is no exception. The head retention on the Tracktown 200m ale was also very impressive as I had to pour the beer, drive to the store and upon returning found that the beers foamy top still existed.
