Beer Review – Cannery Brewing Squire Scotch Ale

Name: Cannery Brewing Squire Scotch Ale

Origin: BC, Canada

Style: Scotch Ale(6.5%)

Appearance: A slightly foggy, red coloured ale. It pours with a medium head, but that quickly shrinks and leaves a long lasting small filmy top for the duration of the drink.

Taste: The aroma is sweet and toffee-esque. The taste is surprisingly light and clean for a scotch ale, with some general notes of caramel and stronger flavours of hickory smoke. It finishes clean, with just the slightest, short lived ashy bitterness.

Mouth Feel: A light bodied ale, with a very soft mouth feel. Its quite filling and very easy drinking

Final Thoughts (2.5 out of 5): I like scotch ales, but this one was a bit too light for my palette. I prefer richer scotch ales.

Fish Creek park quickly changes from green to gold to dead.
