Beer Review – Budwiesser Budvar

Name: Budwiesser Budvar

Origin: Czech Republic

Style: Pilsner

Appearance:  Even though it was in a can when I tested this one, I can almost guarantee it was a clear, pale yellow colour. That was just a guess though.

Taste: Most likely the cause of the can itself, this pil smelled of metals, with something of a sweet, yet skunky odor. It has a metallic, semi-sweet, skunked taste, not unlike its aroma. Some mild grasses noted. Finishes extremely ashy and bitter.

Mouth Feel:  Sharp, very carbonated and a long, ashy bitter aftertaste.

Final Thoughts (1 out of 5): I think of all the beers I had during the half of my trip I spent in Austria, this was my least favorite. Simply awful all around.
