Beer Review – Bud Light Lime

Name: Bud Light Lime

Origin: USA

Style: Flavoured Light Lager (4%)

Appearance: The can is pretty. The beer is a very light shade of yellow, almost clear, with just the slightest hint of green though that could be my imagination.

Taste:  The beer is very watery, no noticeable hops or malts. The only distinguishable taste is the lime which, though not overly strong, drowns out the minimal background flavours. If I were to compare this beer to anything, it would be a club soda with lime juice.

Mouth Feel: Refreshing, crisp and very light. Mouth feel is this beers strong point.

Final Thoughts (1 out of 5):  I would hardly consider this a beer and more of an alcoholic club soda and lime. I imagine this concoction was developed with the non-beer drinker in mind as it really does not have anything in common with beer except for the can. Its saving grace is that it is actually a very refreshing beer and I could see someone enjoying this on a hot, summer afternoon. Mind you though, that someone will never be me.
