Beer Review – Bow Valley Lager

Name: Bow Valley Lager

Origin: Calgary, Canada

Style: Lager (5.0%)

Appearance: Pours with a small, fizzy head but it rapidly fades from the beer. Its a very standard, clear, gold coloured lager.

Taste:  It smells of grains and malts, that reminds of unbaked, rising bread dough. The taste is not far of, having a slightly bread-like palette, but has an overall clean taste. The aftertaste is bitter and grassy but as unmentionable as its flavour.

Mouth Feel: A very fizzy, though not sharp at all, mouth feel. It has a light body and is incredibly easy drinking.

Final Thoughts (2.5 out of 5):  A very plain-Jane lager as far as taste is concerned, though it does excel in its mouth-feel. This beer would be very good on a hot summer day cold, or warm on a cold Christmas morn.
