Name: Bow Valley Lager Strong
Origin: Calgary, Canada
Style: Lager (7.0%)
Appearance: It basically looks exactly the same as Bow Valley Lager, except much more carbonated and fizzy.
Taste: It has a metallic smell, with something that reminds me of cheap old honey. It is also surprisingly sweeter than its younger brother, with some cane sugar like notes. Aftertaste is sweet and short-lived.
Mouth Feel: A fizzy beer that is also much sharper on the tongue. Its has a medium body.
Final Thoughts (2.0 out of 5): I can already tell you how they make “Bow Valley Strong”. They probably brew up a Bow Valley Lager (or just split them into two separate fermenation units), pitch a ton more dextrose sugar into it to bring up the gravity and ferment it. This is where the sweet, cheapened flavours come from.
