Beer Review – Binding Romer Pils

Name:  Binding Romer Pils

Origin: Frankfurt, Germany

Style: Pilsner (German Pilsner 5%)

Appearance:  This beer is a dark pilsner, with coffee like appearance. It came from the tap and still had a huge, soft and  foamy head

Taste:  There is a slightly earthy smell, though it was tough to detect. The beer itself is very light tasting, with some subtle notes of caramels and stronger more noticeable ones of coffee. It finishes bitter-sweet orange like citrus aftertaste.

Mouth Feel:   Light, soft and refreshing. The aftertaste is short lived, which is a plus if your look for an easy drinking beer.

Final Thoughts (2.5 out of 5):  It was a good beer, but not great by any means. The beer was quite refreshing and just what I needed after twenty-four hours of commuting from Calgary to Frankfurt. Honestly I am still unsure if what I am drinking really was Romer Pils, due to the fact that it is not supposed to be dark in appearance. I am just going off what was on the menu.
