Name: Muskoka Cream Ale
Origin: Canada, Alberta, Edmonton
Style: Spiced Ale (5%)
Appearance: It pours a dark yellow colour, crystal clear, with only the slightest head which quickly shrinks away. It does not show much carbonation either.
Taste: The smell of the pepper used in this ale is very apparent. Its aroma is sweet and very peppery. The flavour starts with sweet oranges and spicy black pepper. It finishes slightly grassy, with notes of berries and even some bitter pine. The peppery flavours are in noticable from start to finish of this ale. The aftertaste is a short lived pepper and citrus flavour.
Mouth Feel: Soft, light bodied with only a mild amount of carbonation.
Final Thoughts (3.5 out of 5): Normally a beer with a unique palette such as this one would get a higher score, but I felt that the citurs-like flavours and pepper flavours clashed to much in it. They did not meld together as nicely as it did in the Route des Epice, another peppered ale. Still it is a very tasty beer and one I would recommend to any adventurous beer connoisseur.
