Beer Review – Augustiner

Name: Augustiner

Origin: Salzburg, Austria

Style: German Pil

Appearance: Poured right from the tap at the Augustiner brewery, directly attached to the monastery located in Salzburg, Austria. It is a very foamy beer, overflowing from the stone pint glass it was given in. Its a pale yellow colour and the head dissipated within a minute.

Taste:  There was no applicable aroma to note, but that may have been because the beer garden was filled with the smells of other foods. The beer is watery at first, with some bitter grasses. It finishes with sweet bready notes and there was a subtle hint of cinnamon hidden in the bitter hops.

Mouth Feel: Soft, creamy and not to filling. A very easy drinking and refreshing beer.

Final Thoughts (3 out of 5):  This beer is better from the tap then the bottle and probably better straight from the brewery its created at then a pub! Still I did not find it anything special in my books.
