Name: Asahi Munich-Type Black
Origin: Japan
Style: Dark Lager (5%)
Appearance: It is a dark brown coloured ale that is very cola-like in appearance. It pours with a soft, medium head that is very short lived.
Taste: This dark lager has molasses and cherries in its aroma. It has a light taste, with some sublter notes of molasses and berries. It tends to lean more to flavours such as bakers chocolate. It finishes bitter with notes of cocoa and floral hops.
Mouth Feel: It has a crisp, refreshing palette. It is neither filling, nor sharp and has a light body.
Final Thoughts (3.5 out of 5): A very nice, light and refreshing dark lager. Generally the darker the beer, the heavier it is, but this lager is a nice exception to that beer stereotype.
