Name: Altenmunster Hefe-Weissbeir
Origin: Germany
Style: Hefenweissen (Wheat ALe)
Appearance: I lacked a glass for this beer as I was sampling it on a train, while seated between cars due to a lack of seats.
Taste: The beer smells strongly of sweet popuri. It is on the lighter side of wheat ales, it still has strong notes of sweet dried flowers and some difficult to distinguish spices. There are definite notes of fruit, maybe bananas, but they are drowned out by the strong floral flavors.
Mouth Feel: The beer had low carbonation, though was still a rough on the tongue.
Final Thoughts (2 out of 5): It was a good wheat ale, though not overly strong in the flavor department as with so many other Hefenweissens.
