Appearance: A black as jet stout, with a beautiful tan color creamy head. Excellent retention on the head is noted.
Taste: The aroma is mostly raisins, but very light in general. It starts with a semi-sweet fruity flavour, which includes notes of raisins and berries. It finishes with a bitter, chocolate and coffee-like flavour. Overall the palette is light and not very aggressive.
Mouth Feel: Refreshing, creamy and very easy drinking. It has a wonderfully creamy body which makes it go down smooth.
Final Thoughts (4.0 out of 5): Just fantastic as far as mouth feel goes. This is not a very powerfully flavoured stout, but oatmeal is not used to improve or add flavour to a beer. Instead its used to give a softer mouth feel and additional body to the beer. Alley Kat, you never fail to impress.
