Beer Review – Alley Kat 15th Anniversary Smoked Porter

It is not that I haven’t tried enough new beers in the past month, but how could I say no to a limited release! They are only making 250 cases of this beer!

Name: Alley Kat 15th Anniversary Smoked Porter

Origin: Edmonton, Canada

Style: Porter (5%)

Appearance: This porter is a very dark brown, with just a twinge of red to it. It pours a gorgeous medium foamy head that has great retention.

Taste: Its aroma is strong of smoke and some milder notes of chocolate. This beer is a tastes of bitter chocolates and strong smokey notes.  It finishes slightly sweet with a short lived hickory-like flavour aftertaste.

Mouth Feel: The overall body of this beer is quite thing making it very easy drinking. Its soft on the tongue and not overly filling.

Final Thoughts (3.5 out of 5): A very nice, very unique tasting porter. I always loved hickory smoke flavour in my foods and beer is no exception to this!

This is just a random picture from Germany. It has nothing to do with beer or the beer I reviewd. Zing!
