I am going to just place a couple quickie beer reviews for the other two Minhas Brewery beers I had the strange pleasure of sampling this week. And I don’t plan to hold back the sarcasm for these ones. Just this once.
Lazy Mutts Farmhouse Ale (1.5/5) - Can’t say I have ever sampled a beer that has a hint of Jack Daniels in it. This beer, like all of Minhas’ others has basically zero head and is rather uninspiring as far as beer goes. The only really “wow” factor is that outside the normal ale style flavours, there is a definite note of Jack Daniels-esque flavour. Odd and unpleasant.
Fighting Billy Bock (2.5/5) – Christ. Who names these things? This is the gem of the entire batch. Its a dark “bock” though I would equate it closer to a dark lager. Definite notes of coffee and the floral flavours from the hops are actually presentable in this beer. Looks like cola, drinks like cola, hell it even tastes a little like cola. Well more like coffee flavoured cola. Actually this one wasn’t bad, but it sure as hell wasn’t a bock.
I guess these are made by the same brewmasters behind Mountain Crest, a beer that prides itself on its use of cheap ingredients and brewing practices. Ah well, despite that these are really a step above that lager. Still nothing I would ever pick up again thats for sure! I guess this very medicore line of beers are its masterpieces. Epic. Fail.
