Routine of the Day – Row, Thrusters and Pullups

Routine of the Day – 3 Rounds for Time
- Row, 0.5 miles
- 50 Thrusters, 45lbs Olympic Bar (ass to grass and elbows to knees at bottom, bar locked overhead at top)
- 30 Pullups
Time – 30:46
I think I hate thrusters more then any other exercise I do regularly. My legs were on fire so bad after the first round it was hard to rep 10 in a row without needing to break.
Hobbies – Impulse buy.

I don’t impulse buy often, but when I do the wife becomes very, very upset.
I bought this on a whim. A very expensive whim. I have wanted to get into archery and eventually into bow hunting for a long, long time, but could never get myself motivated enough to do so. I went to the Bass Pro shop with my brother, who is an avid rifle hunter already and got fitted for a bow. Its an entry level compound bow, but it has gotten very high reviews from its owners.
I cannot wait to get it sighted in this weekend!
Home Brew – Mead’s done. Beer’s done. Wine’s done.

A basement full of fermented goodness.
The mead is finished enough I am happy considering how horribly stuck it was for over a week. The gravity read at 0.998 (12.3% ABV) and though it could probably drop a few more points and maybe it will, but now I am going to ignore it for the next several months.
My ESB is also finished and I am unsure if I need to rack it to prevent it from going any lower. Its gravity 1.010 (6.4% ABV). I think I will ignore this one for several weeks.
And the wine is also done. The final gravity 1.000 and I think I am going downstairs to bottle it now.

Recipes – Beer Cookies
Posted by bradinator in Recipes on January 25, 2012
They really are not beer cookies, but they contain 2-Row Pale Malt as the base. I was originally going to use this roasted malt for beer, but did not like how my previous beer turned out in the end. Rather then tossing it all out I decided to blend it into flour and use it for cookies!
High in protien, fiber and surprisingly good.
- 3 cups of ground 2-Row Pale Malt, pre-toasted (this was about a 75% 2-Row, 25% Oatmeal mix to be honest)
- 1 cup of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of molasses
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup egg whites
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp nutmeg
Steps -
- Pre-heat oven to 300F
- Mix dry ingredients in a big bowl
- Mix liquid in a separate bowl
- Mix them together in big bowl
- Stir, should be thick
- Please into a large baking sheet, bake for about 15-20 minutes or until brown
- Remove and cool for 20 minutes.
Thats it. I figured if it turned out like crap I could give them to the dog, but unfortunately for him they did not.
Routine of the Day – Death By Pullups

Routine of the Day – Death By Pullups
On a continuously running clock, do 1 Pullup for the first minute, 2 for the second, 3 for the third minute and so on until you are unable to complete the required number of repetitions.
Completed 17 minutes, + 14 reps on the 18th minute.
I find the first 10 minutes pretty dull, so I used the downtime to practice handstands into forward rolls.
