Summer Berry Ale bottled
Posted by bradinator in Beer, Home Brewing on February 21, 2010
Today I bottled my Summer Berry Ale and despite a moment of panic when my hydrometer read absolutely no change in the gravity all went well. It turns out that the hydrometer can get jammed in a wine-theif.
Final Gravity reading was 1.010 giving this beer an ABV of 6%. Two weeks in the bottles and a couple days in the fridge this should be a very tasty (or very awful) fruit flavour infused beer. I should pick up some fresh berries to toss into the glass when I enjoy my first one.

- 21 Squats
Finished in 6:34.
Oh yes. Some serious pain.
Beer Review – Dominus Vobiscum Blanche
Posted by bradinator in Beer, Beer Tasting on February 21, 2010
Name: Dominus Vobiscum Blanche
Origin: Canada, Quebec
Style: Wheat Ale (Spiced Wheat Ale – 5% ABV)
Appearance: This is a cloudy, very pale, light yellow. It is intensly fizzy and very heady. This beer produces a large foamy head that has incredible retention.
Taste: The is very little in the aroma area worth mentioning. As for taste this beer is quite nice, mild, with notes of grapefruit, some sour tastes as well. There is some spiciness to this beer as well, maybe nutmeg or cinnamon.
Mouth Feel: Very sharp and fizzy which is not surprising considering it’s appearance.
Final Thoughts (3.5 out of 5): If you like wheat ales then this is a beer you will enjoy. Personally I found this beer enjoyable, with a nice balance of fruit and spices.
Routine of the Day – Tabata This! おさしぶりです
Posted by bradinator in Fitness, Routines on February 19, 2010
It has been a while, hasn’t it?
It has been a few weeks since my last run through a Tabata This! routine and my overall score has suffered from it.
Pullups 24 16 11 8 10 9 7 5 Total - 90 Best- 5
Squats 25 21 20 21 21 20 20 20 Total - 168 Best 20
Pushups 40 24 18 14 14 14 13 13 Total - 150 Best 13
Mt Climb 26 25 22 20 20 20 20 20 Total – 173 Best 20
Dips 25 25 25 25 25 25 25 25 Total - 200 Best 25
Strict Situps 12 13 12 11 10 11 10 10 Total - 89 Best 10
All of the above, excluding the strict situps (hands across chest, forehead to knees) where done with the 14lbs training vest.
My score suffered terribly from the break from Tabata’s. If I compare everything except the Situps (the last exercise tends to be a bit random so I do not include it in my overall scoring – Only Pullups, Squats, Pushups, Mountain Climbers and Chair Dips are used) I have lost over 50 repetitions.
I think I may start including Tabata’s as a weekly component of my exercise regiment again…
